Can you sue or press charges for false accusations? please answer!!?

Like all things, it depends. Two of the factors:

-How did this person falsely accuse you. Did they make some off-hand remark about you? Or did they make a big campaign about it (personally telling people false things about you, etc)

-How much damage did it do (to your psyche, reputation, etc). Are people just teasing you a bit more, or has your ability to do things been impaired by these false accusations (ie cannot coach Little League because you were falsely accused of child molestation)

You probably can't sue unless 1.) you can definitively prove that the allegations against you are false and 2. they have severely impacted your mental health, your ability to get a job or make a living, a court decision against you, or some other SIGNIFICANT wayCan you sue or press charges for false accusations? please answer!!?
Yes you can but you have to prove that the false charges caused you serious harm, such as lost wages. And it costs a great deal of money to do so. You cannot sue merely for defamation of character as someone here has suggested and expect to win unless the misinformation caused you serious harm. In addition, you would have a difficult time finding an attorney to handle the case unless you stood to win a great deal of money. Can you sue or press charges for false accusations? please answer!!?
The answer to your original question is: Yes you can.

After reading your additional details, why would you want to? Are they pressing charges against you?
