My ex girlfriend is says she is pressing harassment charges....they are false...what can happen?

She is very vindictive and somehow found out I am now married with a child on the way and even though I have no communication with her she says she is pressing charges...can I lose my state job?My ex girlfriend is says she is pressing harassment charges....they are false...what can happen?
You cannot lose your state job. In all law suits the defendant is innocent until proved guilty. First she'd have to take you to civil court and prove that you're harassing her -- either by showing phone records, e-mails, letters, or other proof. If these charges are false you have nothing to worry about.

Unless she self-represents no self-respecting lawyer would take her case. If she's as unbalanced as it appears, lawyers will recognize that immediately.

She's most likely just making an empty threat, if she continues tell her you're going to file for a restraining order (which isn't a bad idea to do anyway, sounds like she's nuts). My ex girlfriend is says she is pressing harassment charges....they are false...what can happen?
In the u.s., there is no private criminal prosecution. She can tell police whatever she wants and the police can investigate or not and then the DA will decide whether to press charges. If you want to know if you can lose your job, look into your contract with your employer, including any civil service rules. They are no universal.
