Should a single man avoid becoming a Big Brother for fear of a false charge of sexual molestation?

I know a lot of guys who would make great Big Brothers but they fear

being accused of sexual misconduct because they are not married and most do not have children.Should a single man avoid becoming a Big Brother for fear of a false charge of sexual molestation?
There are men who are married with children who molest them. Being single has nothing to do with pedophilia.

Many mentors make a point of staying in public places, such as meeting the child at school or a library to help them with homework, or meeting them at a ballgame or the zoo, or whatever activity they plan to do that day. If the child has a ride from someone else, there is no opportunity to be alone with them.Should a single man avoid becoming a Big Brother for fear of a false charge of sexual molestation?
news flash:: many sexual molesters of little boys are married men with children

your friend should do this if he wants and not worry about what others think or being accused of anything

the time spent is usually in groups not one on one anyway such as going to a game or video arcade, the mom can drop the son off at the public place and pick the kid up allowing not any alone time with the big brother

also the big brother can go to the home and do stuff with the kid with mom there
Hah, in these times, yes. But seriously, ask the foundation what they do to avoid such accusations from the crazy public, and what advice they give. I agree with the above, that they must've thought this out before.
I'm sure the Big Brother program screens its applicants very thoroughly and with so many young boys having no decent male role model, I don't think a single guy should hesitate to become a Big Brother.
I think the Big Brother people have thought this problem through. If you know you would not do such a thing then sign up. Don't listen to your ridiculous fears.

Just don't molest the kid or invite him for sleepovers at your neverland ranch and you won't have a problem.
