Ok so a polcie officer filed a report with false information can i press charges against the officer?

ok so a officer filed a report with false information on it, is there anyway i can press charges against the officer for that information and if so whats the punishement, and i live in WisconsinOk so a polcie officer filed a report with false information can i press charges against the officer?
Well, it depends on the nature of the false information.

If the information is false because someone lied to the police officer, then that's not his fault.

If the information is false because the officer made a mistake, then you can just correct the information by making a statement to be added to the report.

If the officer, with malicious intent, filed false information in a police report, then you should contact the district attorney with your evidence.

Remember, you'll need evidence that it was malicious, not just a suspicion.Ok so a polcie officer filed a report with false information can i press charges against the officer?
Ummm, false info?

You mean he reprinted allegations that someone else made against you? were these allegations proven false? How?

Did the cop know that they were false? (His signing the report only affirms that the allegations are the ones he'd heard.)

How false is the info? I hate to split hairs, but if it's only wrong in a technical sense, you're out of luck.

so much info you left out.
The officer filed his report based on either his own observations or the information from a complainant/witness.

No, you cannot press charges against the officer.

You should worry more about your grammar and spelling...

You write like you're 5 years old.

(Polcie, punishement, i)
Can you prove the officer knowingly and willingly falsified a report? If not then no. If you can, then yes you may. The key here is for you to prove the officer intentionally did wrong. If this is some childish payback for some perceived wrong then it WILL backfire on you.
What was the source of this ';false information';? Is the officer reporting what was told or provided to the officer? You need to have some detailed and specific information in place prior to making allegations of false reporting.
'; Well, Yes officer I did knife my attacker, %26amp; his back was facing Me!';

reads, ';In a fit of passion the victim did defend themself with deadly force!';

Just the facts, just the facts! Please!
If you do you had better be sure the information on the report is false and be able to prove it.*
